Here it is: the scrappy soap saver set! 1.5 pounds of bare soap scraps + 1 soap loofah = best natural soap value around. This is the equivalent of eight full-size bars. Our scrappy soap chunks, cracked edges, slim slices, and oddly sized end pieces may not be conventionally gorgeous, but this is one heckuva good way to keep yourself (or your friends and family) stocked with top quality soap and shampoo bars on a budget.
About the Soap Scrappies: This is the same excellent quality as our full-size soap & shampoo bars. You'll receive an assortment of hunks 'n' chunks 'n' slices in at least three different soap scents. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate scent requests for scrappy boxes. Your set may contain any of the following scents: Unscented, Lavender, Pink Lemonade, Sweet Mint, Lemongrass, Fresh Orange, Four Spices, Lemon Tart, Winter Orange, Bristol Woods, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip, Basil & Citrus, Flower City Lilac, Lavender & Fennel, Camper's Favorite, Green Tea (new!)
Photos shown are representative of the type of assortment you may receive. Your set may or may not include the exact varieties shown.
All of our 100% natural bar soaps are free of palm oil, handmade in small batches with lots of shea butter, and scented with pure essential oils and extracts. Gentle enough for faces, cleansing enough for hardworking hands and dirty hair. No detergents, SLS, SLES, triclosan, parabens, pthalates, synthetic fragrances, or dyes. Ingredients: Saponified Oils of Olive, Coconut, and Rice Bran, Water, Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil. May contain essential oils, clays, plant extracts or purees, spices, herbs. Winter Orange soap also contains egg yolks from our chickens.
Use any of our bars as shampoo bars: wet hair, rub the bar directly on your hair from roots to ends, or create lather in your hands and apply to hair. Work lather through hair and scalp, rinse. Follow with a diluted vinegar rinse to restore your hair's pH and add smoothness and manageability: approximately 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar to 1 cup water. For longer hair that tangles easily, use up to 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar to 1 cup water and dip hair ends right in the cup.
About the Hanging Soap Loofah: simple, straightforward, maximum suds. Made from recycled bottles, this hanging soap bag prolongs the life of your soap by allowing it to hang dry completely between uses.
Have a houseful? Go here to add a couple-few more soap loofahs to your order so everyone can pack their own.
To make the most of your scrappies, store on a draining soap dish or hang in a mesh soap loofah bag, out of the shower's direct spray, between uses. Store unused soap scrappies in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
Scrappy Soap Tips
Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a pound and a half of soap. Time to get sudsing! Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your scrappy soaps.
Showers & baths: perhaps the most obvious option. Choose 2-3 ounces of soap scrappies and put them in your hanging soap loofah bag. You now have a super convenient, easy lathering, lightly exfoliating, quick drying soap sack. When your loofah bag is running low, carefully add a couple more slivers or slices.
Travel: I like to pack some of the small to medium size pieces in an empty medium lotion bar tin to use as travel soap. They're perfect for a couple of showers, and give my luggage a great gentle scent.
On the go: we cut small slivers or tiny chunks and keep them in - you guessed it - an empty lotion bar tin or other small container to use when we're on the road. This is an easy way to avoid the detergent-heavy cleansers in public restrooms.
Change it up: many customers tell me they love to use small to medium slices of soap at home because it means they can switch scents more frequently. Change up your bars - who knows, maybe you'll find a new favorite!
Use as laundry stain pre-treatment: rinse stain with cold water. Rub damp soap directly on stain to loosen oils and organic matter. Let sit, then launder as usual. You may wish to rinse and reapply the soap treatment again before laundering.
Dog baths: lemongrass, lavender, and unscented soap scraps are great for bathing dogs! Keep suds out of your pet's eyes and mouth, of course, and rinse thoroughly with tepid to warm water. Do not use on cats at all, and do not use on other pets without first consulting your veterinarian.
Guest soaps: set out a smaller size slice for visitors so they'll have their very own mini bar, just the right size for their stay.
