Sunscreen/sunblock lotion sticks: convenient, portable, mess-free skin protection. Makes a great gift for athletes, families, coaches, fishermen, hunters, and anyone outdoorsy who needs both sun protection and clean hands. It goes on smoothly with minimal white cast, unlike many "goopier" natural sunscreens on the market.
This formulation has been tested by an independent lab at SPF 35 or more. In conjunction with various oils and butters, non-nanoparticle uncoated zinc oxide forms a protective layer over the skin. It is not absorbed into the skin and therefore, unlike conventional chemical sunscreens, Sun's Up! does not require a waiting period before sun exposure.*
Our sunscreen stick is a generous 2.6 ounces and will last a *very* long time!
Our scent-free and Lavender & Mint versions are also available in a .7 ounce mini sunscreen stick that is perfect for lips, backpacks, noses, and travel.
LAVENDER MINT Ingredients: organic coconut oil, beeswax, non-nano particle size uncoated zinc oxide (22%), natural shea butter, organic cocoa butter, organic jojoba oil, organic essential oils of lavender and peppermint
Directions: Apply liberally to exposed skin 15 minutes before sun exposure, then rub as needed to minimize whitening appearance. Reapply at least every two hours or after 40 minutes of swimming or sweating. Reapply immediately after towel drying. Ask a doctor before using on children under 6 months of age. For external use only. Do not use on damaged or broken skin. Stop use and ask a doctor if rash occurs. Keep out of eyes. Rinse with water to remove. While the beeswax and vegetable butters help make this lotion water-resistant, reapplication will help ensure full protection.
Sun Protection Measures: Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including:
· limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
· wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses
IMPORTANT: Age recommendations: sunscreen is not recommended for full-coverage use on infants under 6 months as it can interfere with their heat regulation. A good hat and shade are the best sun defense for young infants. For small areas like feet/ankles/calves or forearms while in a carrier or stroller, however, it is fine.
Origin of the name "Sun's Up!": As a young child, my younger brother was ready to begin the day at sunrise and he thought the rest of us should get up then, too. He would bounce around in his room yelling, "Sun's up! Sun's up!" His goofy little greeting quickly became a family expression signifying morning and summertime. 🙂
